JAMES ZACCARIA, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Zaccaria, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon with more than 15 years’ experience in private practice and hospital-based care. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at La Salle University, where he was a Division III wrestler. After receiving a master’s degree in microbiology at Temple University, Dr. Zaccaria is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. He did his podiatric surgical residency at the William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton, NJ. As part of his residency, he performed two weeks of continuous clubfoot and flatfoot reconstruction surgery in a free clinic for children in Guatemala.
Dr. Zaccaria excels in advanced techniques of diabetic wound care, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, as well as limb salvage, foot and ankle trauma and reconstructions, podiatric surgery, and sports medicine. He is affiliated with the Main Line Health Hospitals (Bryn Mawr, Lankenau, and Paoli) and also sees patients with chronic wounds at the Bryn Mawr Hospital Wound Healing Center. Dr. Zaccaria recently co-authored a paper on amniotic stem-cell therapy for tendonitis which was presented at the 2015 ACFAS Scientific Conference, and is currently involved in researching the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. He lives with his wife and his daughter in New Jersey.
